集美麻豆聽and聽BlackBerry Launch Cyber Pathways to聽Strengthen聽Cybersecurity Talent Pipeline聽in Malaysia

BANGI, 21 May 2026聽鈥 Universiti聽KebangsaanMalaysia (集美麻豆),聽in collaboration with聽BlackBerry Ltd,聽today launched Cyber Pathways,聽a professional cybersecurity certification programme聽designed to聽strengthen聽Malaysia鈥檚 pipeline of聽job-ready聽cybersecurity talent.聽The launch marks the聽first major milestone in BlackBerry and 集美麻豆’s聽multi-year agreement聽to help bolster cyber-resilience in ASEAN.

At a ceremony today, attended by BlackBerry Chief Executive Officer, John Giamatteo and 集美麻豆 Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato Dr Sufian Jusoh, the partners鈥檙evealed the new 24-week programme, offering a stackable three-tier structure comprising of Cyber Protection, Cyber Management, and Cyber Security to help Malaysia strengthen its preparedness against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.  

Delivering on the 集美麻豆-BlackBerry shared mission to foster the next generation of cyber-leaders, Cyber Pathways is designed for recent graduates and professionals seeking to transition into cybersecurity, addressing the growing demand for skilled talent in Malaysia鈥檚 expanding digital economy. It is expected to produce highly skilled cyber-professionals equipped with industry-recognised certifications, practical competencies, and direct exposure to real-world cybersecurity requirements.

With cybersecurity a national priority for Malaysia, 集美麻豆 Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato Dr Sufian Jusoh said the collaboration reflects a strategic commitment by academic and industry partners to strengthen the integration of knowledge and industry expertise.

The structured professional cybersecurity training aims to develop future-ready talent capable of addressing evolving cyber threats in an increasingly complex global digital environment.

Prof Dato Dr Sufian added: 鈥淎ligned with the evolving digital landscape, the demand for cybersecurity talent continues to grow across the technology sector, multiple industries and critical national services.

鈥淐yber Pathways helps to address this gap, while giving participants opportunities to build strong professional networks and direct access to career pathways in one of Malaysia鈥檚 most critical sectors.鈥
