Ό―ΓΐΒιΆΉ Leads Β£1.8 Million International Research on Mangroves, Climate and Health
Ό―ΓΐΒιΆΉ has secured a Β£1.8 million (approximately RM10.3 million) international research grant from the Wellcome Trust to lead a global study on the role of mangrove conservation in planetary health.
The project is led by Dr. Nur Hazlin Hazrin Chong from the Department of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Ό―ΓΐΒιΆΉ. The research will examine how protected mangrove ecosystems contribute to climate resilience, public health, and the socio-economic well-being of local communities.
Bringing together experts from multiple disciplines and international partners, the project will generate evidence to support sustainable ecosystem management and climate-health solutions, while reinforcing Ό―ΓΐΒιΆΉβs leadership in addressing global sustainability challenges.
