Theme development & schedule

AE Regional Conferences are generally organized around a theme and selected sub-topics. The main theme and sub-topics are developed in cooperation between the Secretariat and the host university, and endorsed at the annual AUN USR&S Steering Committee Meeting.

“This process permits regional issues to be addressed in the context of larger themes that would be appealing to the conference delegates.”

The Conference is usually held every two years over a three-day period. At the 6th AUN USR&S Steering Committee Meeting on 17 December 2017, it was agreed that the Conference shall be held on the third week of November biennially, beginning with the 4th AsiaEngage Regional Conference (AE Thailand 2018).

Typical conference week structure:

Sunday (evening) Closed pre-conference meeting
Monday 鈥 Wednesday Main conference sessions
Wednesday evening or Thursday AUN USR&S Steering Committee Meeting
