The Project Management Office (PMO) for the Permata Specialist Children’s Hospital is Now Located in UMBI
The ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹 Board of Directors has appointed UMBI’s Director, Professor Datuk Dr. A Rahman A Jamal as the chairman for the project management committee for the Hospital Pakar Kanak-kanak Permata (HPKKP) ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹. Professor Datuk Dr. Rahman has been holding the post of Chairman of the Working and Technical Committee for the HPKKP since 2010 until the ground breaking ceremony by the YAB Prime Minister on the 23rd a paediatric oncologist and a senior professor at the Department of Paediatrics ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹 Medical Centre, he will certainly use his vast experience in academia, clinical service and research to continue to supervise this project to its expected completion date in 2017. The PMO for HPKKP is now located at the 1st of the new UMBI building. The HPKKP will be built under a private financing initiative (PFI) in the build-lease-maintain-transfer approach with a concession period of 30 years. This is the first children’s hospital for the nation and it is one of the few hospitals using evidence-based and the stake-holders approach in the design. UMBI will strategise to provide the research expertise to this research-intensive public hospital.
