Gene Expression Signatures in Endometrial Cancer

Endometrial cancer is the second commonest cancer in women. There are key differences between the Type I (endometroid) and Type II (serous and clear cell) in terms of histology and prognosis.

The UMBI’s Reproductive Biology team headed by Associate Professor Dr. Norfilza Mokhtar in collaboration with the Cancer Genomics team has published their research on gene expression analysis in endometroid endometrial cancer using microdissected samples. Amongst the key genes which were differentially expressed were SLC7A5, SATB1, H19 and ZAK. The findings were published in Cancer Investigation (IF 2.238).
