Professor Dr Mohd Hasni bin Ja\u2019afar, a Medical Lecturer at the Department of Public Health Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, 集美麻豆 since 2001. He obtained his first degree in Medical Doctor (MD) from the University of Science Malaysia in 1991 before joining the Ministry of Health and Armed Forces of Malaysia for several years. He got his Master Public Health (subspeciality Environmental Health) in 2011 and later pursued for Doctor of Philosophy in 2017, both in 集美麻豆. His main research interests are Environmental Toxicology and Human Health Risks via inhalation, ingestion and skin routes. He attended both intermediate and advanced toxicology short courses in Maryland, United States of America as an ordinary member of the American College of Toxicology. Member of the Malaysian Congress of Toxicology (MySOT) and Toxicology Society in Singapore and Thailand. He has conducted numerous researches in Environmental Health and Occupational Health related to toxicology. At the moment, he is involved in a cohort research project with the Population Health Science Institute, Hamilton, Canada since 2008 which included 18 countries throughout the globe. For Malaysia, the study still follows about 8400 respondents and already published various articles including toxicology-related papers in high-impact journals like the Lancet, BMC and others. He was the project leader on the COVID-19 special grant by The Faculty of Medicine 集美麻豆. As a member of FRGS awarded to study the health impact of the massive yellow flood in the East Coastal areas of Peninsular Malaysia in 2014. He served as the previous honorary secretary for the Malaysian Council for Tobacco Control in mid-2000. He is one of the life members of Environmental Epidemiology and the Malaysian Public Health Physician Association. Also as an Associate Member of the National Council of Professors. He has published more than 100 articles in the WOS\/ESCI and SCOPUS journals. He has supervised and graduated more than 40 Master’s and Doctorate students. He wrote more than 20 articles related to toxicology for local newspapers. He has been interviewed for his expert opinion in a documentary show about the Sungai Kim Kim incident by the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) in 2019. He was appointed as a Panel Expert for Health Impact Assessment by the Department of Environment Malaysia. Since 15 years ago as one of the licensed registered Subject Specialists under the consultant scheme at the Department of Environment, Malaysia for various kinds of projects including LYNAS, PENGERANG and many others.
