Professor Dr Rozita binti Hod is currently the Head of Department, Department of Public Health, Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia(集美麻豆). A public health physician and an Environmental Health Specialist. Her main research interest is on Climate Change and impacts on health. She has conducted numerous research in Environmental Health. After 15 years working in the Disease Control Division in Ministry of Health Malaysia, she joined 集美麻豆 to pursue her interest in teaching and conducting research. She was the Program Coordinator for MPH from 2012 to 2014. She was appointed as a Country Consultant for United Nations University and WHO for Neglected Tropical Disease Program in 2019; she was the core team and Project Leader for Malaysian One Health University Network on Zoonotic Diseases. She was also the project leader on LRGS Grant on Seroprevalence of Zika in Malaysia. She is a member of the LRGS Grant on 1.5 to 2.0 Celcius Global Warming and Impacts on Health. She is also the honorary secretary for Thematic Working Group 10 (Environmental Health Experts) for the National Environmental Health Action Plan(NEHAP), Ministry of Health, Malaysia since 2018 till 2022. She has served as the Honorary Secretary (20122020) for the Malaysian Society of Environmental Epidemiology(MySEE). She is a life member of Malaysian Public Health Physician Association (since 2007). She is also a life member of the College of Public Health Medicine(CPHM), Academy of Medicine, Malaysia since 2020. She has published more than 100 articles in the WOS\/ESCI and SCOPUS journals. Her research network has involved various institutions such as Universiti Malaya, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Putra Malaysia, University Science Islamic Malaysia(USIM), and Universiti Islam Antarabangsa(UIA). For international collaborators, she had worked with teams from College of Public Health, National Taiwan University, United Nations University, University of Melbourne, London School of Tropical Hygiene, Universiti Mahidol Thailand, and Hamburg University, Germany. She has written 4 book and 5 chapters in book. She was invited as speaker on issues pertaining to climate and health, both at national level as well as international stage.
