Prof Dr Tan Hui Jan is a Senior Consultant Physician and Neurologist in Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She obtained her Medical and Masters degree in Internal Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.  She acquired her Membership and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh). She underwent her Neurology Fellowship training in Melbourne specialising in Epilepsy. As the Head of Neurology Unit, Department of Medicine, she co-manages with her team on the clinical and laboratory neurology services that include stroke, movement disorders, epilepsy, neuromuscular, neurophysiology and general neurology.  She has conducted researches in Neurology especially in epilepsy, electroencephalography, neuroinfection and migraine. Her researches has been published in local and international journals. She is an active council member for Epilepsy Council, Malaysian Society of Neurosciences.
