    <p>The Oculoplastic Fellow will participate in\u00a0<strong>clinical services, surgical training, academic activities, teaching and research<\/strong> within the Department of Ophthalmology. Training will be conducted under the supervision of consultant oculoplastic surgeons with progressive development of independent clinical and surgical skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Clinical Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fellow will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate as a member of the\u00a0<strong>multidisciplinary team<\/strong>\u00a0managing oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal disorders<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the\u00a0<strong>management of ophthalmology inpatients<\/strong>, including clinical assessment, documentation and treatment planning<\/li>\n<li>Attend\u00a0<strong>Oculoplastic Outpatient Clinics<\/strong>, assessing new and follow-up patients under consultant supervision<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><br \/>More than\u00a0<strong>50% of the fellowship training is conducted in the outpatient setting<\/strong>, providing extensive exposure to clinical decision-making in oculoplastic practice.<\/p>\n<p>The fellow will also:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage patients referred to\u00a0<strong>ophthalmic emergency services<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Assess and manage\u00a0<strong>ophthalmic emergencies<\/strong>, particularly oculoplastic and periocular conditions<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate referrals from emergency departments and other specialties<\/li>\n<li>Maintain clinical competency in\u00a0<strong>general ophthalmology while focusing on the oculoplastic subspecialty<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Ensure\u00a0<strong>accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Surgical Training<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fellow will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend\u00a0<strong>operating theatre sessions<\/strong>\u00a0under consultant supervision<\/li>\n<li>Perform surgical procedures with\u00a0<strong>graded responsibility based on competency and experience<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Gain exposure to a wide range of procedures including:<\/li>\n<li>Eyelid surgery (ptosis repair, entropion, ectropion, eyelid reconstruction)<\/li>\n<li>Periocular tumour surgery<\/li>\n<li>Lacrimal surgery (e.g., dacryocystorhinostomy)<\/li>\n<li>Orbital procedures<\/li>\n<li>Management of oculoplastic trauma<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The fellow will also:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in\u00a0<strong>perioperative patient care<\/strong>, including preoperative assessment and postoperative follow-up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Maintain a\u00a0<strong>surgical logbook and operative documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Emergency Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fellow will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in\u00a0<strong>ophthalmic emergency services<\/strong>, particularly those related to oculoplastic conditions<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the\u00a0<strong>assessment and management of acute ophthalmic presentations<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Provide appropriate\u00a0<strong>clinical handover to incoming teams<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Academic Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fellow is expected to actively participate in departmental academic activities including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clinical meetings and departmental conferences<\/li>\n<li>Grand Ward Rounds<\/li>\n<li>Ophthalmology teaching sessions and journal clubs<\/li>\n<li>Hospital-wide medical and surgical grand rounds<\/li>\n<li>Case presentations and clinical audit discussions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Teaching Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fellow will contribute to the department\u2019s educational activities by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teaching and supervising\u00a0<strong>ophthalmology residents, registrars and medical students<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Providing\u00a0<strong>clinical teaching in clinics, wards and operating theatres<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Participating in the\u00a0<strong>postgraduate teaching programme<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.
