Kawasan tasik semula jadi kedua terbesar di Semenanjung Malaysia ini bukan sahaja menjadi habitat kepada pelbagai spesies fauna, malah turut menyimpan kepelbagaian flora dan tumbuhan akuatik yang penting dalam mengekalkan keseimbangan ekologi kawasan tersebut. Keunikan landskap Tasik Chini yang terdiri daripada sistem tasik, sungai, paya, hutan riparian dan hutan tanah rendah tropika menjadikannya sebuah ekosistem kompleks yang menyokong kehidupan pelbagai spesies tumbuhan serta hidupan liar secara semula jadi.<\/p><p data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"1515\">Ekosistem akuatik Tasik Chini merekodkan sebanyak 39 spesies tumbuhan akuatik yang terdiri daripada tumbuhan tenggelam, tumbuhan terapung dan tumbuhan muncul. Tumbuhan akuatik tenggelam seperti <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Nelumbo nucifera<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Nymphaea lotus<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Pandanus helicopus<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Cabomba furcata<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Vallisneria gigantea<\/span><\/span> dan <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Vallisneria americana<\/span><\/span> memainkan peranan penting dalam meningkatkan kandungan oksigen di dalam air, menjadi habitat pembiakan hidupan akuatik serta membantu menstabilkan sistem ekologi tasik. Di kawasan pinggir tasik dan paya pula, tumbuhan muncul seperti <\/span><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\" style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Barringtonia<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">, <\/span><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\" style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Lepironia articulata<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"> dan <\/span><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\" style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Scirpus grossus<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"> tumbuh subur dan berfungsi sebagai zon penampan semula jadi yang membantu menapis sedimen, mengekalkan struktur tanah serta menyediakan habitat kepada pelbagai spesies serangga, amfibia dan burung air. Kepelbagaian tumbuhan akuatik ini menunjukkan bahawa Tasik Chini mempunyai sistem ekologi air tawar yang sangat dinamik dan penting untuk keseimbangan biodiversiti kawasan tersebut.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2334\" data-end=\"3050\">Dari aspek flora hutan pula, kawasan Tasik Chini merekodkan sebanyak 785 spesies tumbuhan flora yang terdiri daripada 393 spesies hutan dipterokarpa tanah pamah, 268 spesies tumbuhan hutan banjir bermusim dan 454 spesies tumbuhan hutan riparian atau sungai. Hutan dipterokarpa tanah pamah merupakan antara ekosistem hutan tropika yang kaya dengan spesies kayu keras bernilai tinggi dan memainkan peranan penting sebagai kawasan tadahan air serta habitat hidupan liar. Hutan banjir bermusim pula mempunyai keupayaan unik untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan perubahan paras air, manakala hutan riparian berfungsi melindungi tebing sungai dan membantu mengekalkan kualiti air di kawasan tasik dan sungai sekitar Tasik Chini.<\/p><p data-start=\"3052\" data-end=\"3798\">Antara keluarga tumbuhan yang dominan dan signifikan di kawasan ini ialah <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Euphorbiaceae<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Dipterocarpaceae<\/span><\/span> dan <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Leguminosae<\/span><\/span>. Keluarga tumbuhan ini memainkan peranan penting dalam membentuk struktur utama hutan tropika di Tasik Chini selain menjadi sumber makanan, perlindungan dan habitat kepada pelbagai spesies fauna. Pokok-pokok daripada keluarga Dipterocarpaceae misalnya merupakan spesies dominan dalam hutan tanah rendah tropika dan mempunyai nilai ekonomi serta ekologi yang sangat tinggi. Spesies tersebut ialah <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Dacryodes puberula<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Hopea pubescens<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Lithocarpus curtisii<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Nephelium costatum<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Palaquium maingayi<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Gordonia multinervis<\/span><\/span> dan <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Pentace microlepidota<\/span><\/span>. Kehadiran spesies endemik ini membuktikan bahawa Tasik Chini merupakan habitat unik yang mempunyai kepentingan global dalam aspek pemeliharaan biodiversiti tropika. Sebahagian spesies ini hanya ditemui di kawasan tertentu dan sangat sensitif terhadap perubahan habitat serta gangguan persekitaran.<\/p><p data-start=\"4676\" data-end=\"5112\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Keseluruhannya, kekayaan flora, tumbuhan akuatik dan spesies endemik di <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Tasik Chini Biosphere Reserve<\/span><\/span> mencerminkan kepentingan kawasan ini sebagai pusat biodiversiti, penyelidikan saintifik dan pemuliharaan alam semula jadi negara.
