{"id":15678,"date":"2025-10-13T10:02:42","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T02:02:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/kelestarian\/?p=15678"},"modified":"2025-10-13T10:02:42","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T02:02:42","slug":"ssedar-program-strengthens-slope-sustainability-awareness-in-cameron-highlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/kelestarian\/activities\/ssedar-program-strengthens-slope-sustainability-awareness-in-cameron-highlands\/","title":{"rendered":"SSEDAR Program Strengthens Slope Sustainability Awareness in Cameron Highlands"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Slope Sustainability and Bangi Botanical Garden Group<\/strong>, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹, organized the <strong>SSEDAR \u2013 Slope Sustainability Farmer Engagement Discourse for Actionable Realization<\/strong> program to raise awareness among farmers on sustainable slope management in Cameron Highlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program highlighted the use of <strong>bioengineering techniques using local plant species<\/strong> as an eco-friendly alternative to control erosion and reduce landslide risks in hilly farming areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through <strong>talks, practical workshops, and field demonstrations<\/strong>, participants learned simple, science-based methods that can be applied in their farms. The initiative was supported by <strong>MARDI, the Department of Agriculture, the Forestry Department, and Pahang Corporation Sdn.
