The programme combined recreational activities with a beach clean-up initiative, bringing together staff from the ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹 Strategy Centre to remove solid waste and litter from the shoreline. Beyond enhancing the cleanliness and appearance of the beach, the initiative also promoted a healthy lifestyle and fostered a strong spirit of volunteerism.

The KUDAH Programme reflects ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹’s ongoing commitment to advancing environmental sustainability and upholding the university’s social responsibility to the wider community. Pantai Bukit Keluang was selected as the venue due to its status as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Terengganu, where maintaining cleanliness and preserving its natural beauty are of utmost importance.

Organised by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and its partners, the programme aimed to raise public awareness on environmental protection while encouraging community participation through volunteer-based environmental activities.

Heartfelt appreciation goes to all participants for their commitment, teamwork, and strong volunteer spirit. This initiative reflects a shared effort to support Kuala Lumpur’s vision as a clean, sustainable, and liveable city.

The programme involved university and secondary school students, focusing on practical modules related to water quality, water pollution indicators, and water and solid waste management, aimed at strengthening awareness of sustainable water practices.

The initiative aimed to promote sustainability education through community activities such as recycling, composting, energy and water conservation, and STEM-based environmental modules.

The event was officiated by Prof. Ir. Dr. Norhamidi Muhamad, FKAB Council Member, with participation from Masjid Sungai Sekamat Nazir, Mr. Rosli Darus. Highlights included energy-saving talks by Dr. Syahirah (JKEES), recycling demonstrations by KDEB, and engaging STEM activities like iG-Home, LESTARi, STEM Racer, and Colourful Tower.

Heartfelt appreciation to all FKAB lecturers, staff, and students for their active involvement and commitment in making the event a success.

The Vice-Chancellor in his speech said that conservation and recycling practices are very important for survival and efforts should be taken to ensure that natural resources can be maintained for future generations. Through this kind of program, the sharing and transfer of knowledge can drive towards increasing awareness among the community about the importance of efficient environmental preservation and care in order to ensure the quality of the environment to a better level.

The program also held a sharing session on the country’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the Director of the National SDG Center, Ministry of Economy, Mr. Asfaazam Kasbi. Also present, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kassim; Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation Affairs, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Wan Kamal Mujani; Pro Vice Chancellor of Strategy and Corporate Development, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Roslee Rajikan and Head Librarian, Miss Rohaya Umar.
