The researchers in the Power & Energy Research Group are engaged in research in the areas of interest in Power electronics, power system, machine and drives, renewable energy, energy harvesting, high voltage and insulation coordination, energy management, power quality, wide area monitoring system, internet of energy (IoE), artificial intelligence applications, power protection, and electric vehicle (EV). The group has secured research funding from various funders local and international that focus on ¼¯ÃÀÂ鶹 niche area such as Digital and Frontier Technology, Sustainable Resources, Environment and Smart Living. Since its inception, the group has managed to obtain more than RM 5 million in research grant nationally and internationally. Over 400 research articles have been published in ISI/SCOPUS journal and proceedings on power and energy engineering. Members of the group also have won several international awards for their participation in innovation and research exhibition. Within the group, there are two (2) main laboratories, namely the Power System & Renewable Energy Laboratory, and Power Electronics & High Voltage Laboratory. These laboratories are equipped with various high-tech research equipment related to electrical power and energy engineering.
