The Centre for Automotive Research (CAR)<\/strong> was officially established on 19 March 2008 as a leading research centre within the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, 集美麻豆<\/strong>. Its conception began earlier in 2007, driven by a strategic vision to consolidate and synergise existing strengths in automotive engineering under a unified and high-impact research platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2002, pioneering research in vehicle dynamics and internal combustion engines (ICE) had already been actively undertaken by faculty members. These foundational efforts now continue collectively under CAR, enabling a more integrated and multidisciplinary research environment. Over time, CAR has expanded its research scope to address both conventional and emerging automotive technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, CAR serves as a high-impact, multidisciplinary platform designed to synergize engineering excellence with the rapid digital transformation of the automotive industry. CAR has successfully expanded its scope from traditional mechanical engineering to the forefront of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0), Smart Mobility, Green Energy and Autonomous Systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAR\u2019s research activities are supported by diverse funding sources, including 集美麻豆 internal research grants, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), and other national and industrial partners. The centre actively fosters collaborations with local and private academic institutions, as well as strategic partnerships with the automotive industry, strengthening its role as a catalyst for innovation in both conventional automotive engineering and next-generation electric mobility solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
